FAQs
Before the Event
Where is the event being held & how do I get there?
- The Majura Military Megarace (M3) is held at Majura Military Range, located off Majura Road, Majura, out past the AFP Majura Police Complex.
- The main entrance to the Range is Range Road, and event signage will be clearly displayed on the day.
- Parking is available onsite (to be confirmed). Participants can drive, carpool, or arrange a bus for larger groups.
How long is the course and what should I expect to do?
The Majura Range Course course is approximately 6km – A Fun, Achievable Challenge
- Go at your own pace – Whether you want to walk, jog, or run, it’s up to you; but there is a prize for the best time.
- Know what to expect – You’ll get a description of the obstacles at the event, but be prepared to test your endurance, agility, balance, and coordination as well as teamwork and mental resilience. You will get wet and dirty: be prepared to climb under and over obstacles, lift and carry weights, and of course run/jump/jog/walk around the course.
- It’s all about effort, not perfection – This course is designed to be challenging but achievable for all fitness levels.
How many people can join a team?
- Each team must have exactly four members to participate in M3. Corporate entities may enter multiple teams.
- Teams must complete the course together - all four members must attempt each of the obstacles on the course (TO BE CONFIRMED).
- Unfortunately, due to safety requirements we are unable to support spectators on the course.
What should I bring on the day?
- Photo ID (required for entry)
- Water bottle to stay hydrated
- Phone (for use before and after the challenge)
- Change of clothes, including dry socks, warm layers and a towel
- Comfortable running or trail shoes
What should I wear?
- Participants must wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt for safety.
- Running shoes or trail shoes are recommended.
- Teams are encouraged to wear matching outfits.
- Jewellery, watches and electronic devices are not permitted on the course.
- Mobile phones and GoPros are not permitted while completing the course.
- You will get wet as part of the event, so a warm change of clothes is recommended.
How do I prepare for M3?
- Further details including a training guide, developed with the Australian Army, will be available closer to the event to assist with preparation.
- In the meantime, be aware that M3 is designed to replicate a military-style challenge, requiring teamwork, endurance, and mental resilience. Participants should focus on muscular endurance, agility, balance, and coordination in their training.
When is the Majura Military Megarace?
- The M3 will be run on Saturday 11 October 2025.
Are there any prizes?
- Yes, although we know the satisfaction of completing the course and raising essential funds for Canberra Legacy is enough, there are prizes for the fastest team and most successful fundraisers.
- The team that completes all the obstacles and challenges in the fastest time will be rewarded with a Leadership Luncheon for six people at Duntroon House hosted by senior Army Officers, preceded by a guided tour of the historic buildings and gardens of Duntroon.
- There will be other prizes for fundraising efforts including guided VIP group tours of the Australian War Memorial including participation in the Last Post Ceremony and an opportunity to lay a wreath.
