Who is Legacy and what is Legacy Week?

Legacy is a charity dedicated to providing support to the families of our veterans’ who have given their health or life in service. Legacy Week is an annual fundraising event held to raise funds for Legacy's important work. It aims to honour the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families and ensure they receive the support they need.

How can I volunteer during Legacy Week?

If you're interested in volunteering during Legacy Week, fill out our expression of interest form. We’d love you to join us! Opportunities include selling our iconic Legacy badges, bears and collecting donations. We will allocate you to a team based on where you want to volunteer. 

Can I volunteer if I don't have any previous military or veterans-related experience?

Absolutely! Legacy welcomes volunteers from all walks of life, regardless of their military or veterans-related experience. The primary requirement is a willingness to contribute your time and effort to support Legacy's cause. Training and guidance will be provided to ensure you have a meaningful and fulfilling volunteering experience.

What if I can't volunteer in-person but still want to support Legacy Week?

We know that it’s hard to create time to volunteer. By becoming a digital volunteer you can still support Legacy week by asking your friends and family to support your virtual volunteering page! Create a personal fundraising page here, share it with your friends, family, and social networks and encourage them to donate to support Legacy!

Can I volunteer at Legacy Week events if I'm under 18 years old?

Are there any costs involved in volunteering during Legacy Week?

Volunteering during Legacy Week typically does not require any personal financial contribution. Any funds raised during your volunteering activities should be directed towards supporting Legacy's programs and services.

What happens if it's raining or there is wet weather during Legacy Week volunteering activities?

In the event of wet weather during Legacy Week volunteering activities, the safety and wellbeing of volunteers are of utmost importance. Legacy and its local branches will assess the situation and make decisions accordingly. If activities need to be altered, postponed, or cancelled due to inclement weather, volunteers will be notified in advance.
