"Legacy supports you through the hardest time. Knowing they're there makes all the difference."

Less than two years ago, Georgie’s husband, Steven - a Navy Petty Officer with 20 years of service – passed away at 43 years old from a blood clot in his lungs.

Their youngest daughter, Sybella, found him collapsed at home and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. She was only 11.

“I feared my daughter and I would be without any support or even a home,” she said.

Legacy stepped in and “made the overwhelming feel manageable.”

“They gave me financial assistance for school uniforms, excursions and essentials – it gave us breathing room.”

No veteran’s family should have to navigate their grief alone.

Legacy recently broadened its eligibility so more families can access support when they need it most.

And while Georgie’s family came into Legacy’s care before this expansion, her story reflects the kind of life‑changing hardships that newly eligible families will be facing too.

Honouring the Promise

In the trenches of the Western Front during World War 1, a soldier said to his dying mate: "I'll look after the missus and kids".

That simple act of mateship became known as The Promise and it has guided us ever since.

Your donation this tax time will help us ensure we can uphold this duty of care; honouring those who have served our country by supporting their families.

Legacy remembers our soldiers by caring for their families.

Legacy never forgets the families of our servicemen & women, for it is them who live with the sacrifice every day.

This tax-time donate to Legacy, the charity that supports Aussie veterans and their families.
