When Andrew came home from Afghanistan with severe PTSD, Rebecca was left raising three young boys largely alone - navigating relocations, separation, and the quiet weight of a family in crisis.

Legacy covered school and childcare fees, funded swimming and karate for the boys, and connected Rebecca with a dedicated Legatee and Community Services Worker. Today, with the support of a Legacy university grant, she is studying to become a primary school teacher.

When a veteran serves, so does their family

For over 100 years, Legacy has kept a simple promise to the families of Australia's veterans: you will not carry this loss alone. We support partners and children of veterans who have given their life or health in service - providing financial support, education grants, social connection, counselling and advocacy for as long as families need it.

In 2026, Legacy has extended this support to more families than ever before, following the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide. More families need us.

Every dollar goes directly to supporting the families of Australia's veterans.
